Getting a little stressed about moving .
Especially after the last few times .

The last 2 times I’ve moved any of my tanks something terrible has happened and can’t make sense of why considering how many tanks I have had and moved over the years with no issues at all .

The 230 has been up and running for over 3 years with the same live rock I’ve used in all of my tanks over the last 20+ years

The sand….. debating throwing it away and buying new again .
But not 100% sure

Luckily . It’s not winter in Canada yet

Any tips and tricks to make this move easier with zero casualties are appreciated

I have been stationary for 15 years, so no advice from me, but I am going to move across state lines in 3-4 years, so That’s why I am following.
I would use this opportunity, dump old sand and try bare bottom. You can always add sand later, unless you have inhabitants which need sand bed.

Nothing that burrows but I prefer sand bottoms .

+1 on new sand.
How far are you moving?
I had to do a tankswap over, from my 100 gal to the 200 I got now. Had to empty the old one and move it to get the new one in the same spot. I had nightmares and near anxiety attacks the closer the day came.
All went well but took me the whole day.

I have buckets

Making enough water ahead of time might be a little bit of an issue .
Could always leave corals and fish in buckets with an airstone/wave maker, if they can survive shipping they can survive a move (at least I hope lol)

As for corals there is only gsp. Xenia and palys

It’s more the fish im worried about
if you have the larger rubber maid tubs, those with some live rock and air pump for oxygen your fish should be fine for days in there

those are hardy corals as well, so I wouldn't worry too much! good luck with the move!

Exactly what I meant by not worried too much about the corals. .
Being thinned out a little wouldn’t hurt
