so I can not figure out the reason why but my gravity feed system has hit a wall. For the last 1 1/2 yrs. I have run my water thru the ro system into a 55 drum to de-gas it. After 24 hrs I open a valve and let it run thru the resin and into a brute conta8ner below it. I would get a nice slow flow with good tds results. Now I get drip, drip, drip. I can remove the resin cartridge and close it up and the flow is continuos. Put the cartridge back in and drip, drip, drip. Tonight I emptied a cartridge and repacked it lightly instead of tight. Better but no good flow.
My question....how do those of you who have a similar problem with having to degas your water run your system. I am looking for an alternative other then what I am doing now. Please let me know what you do.
Thank you, Jim

What about a demand delivery pump? Kinda like the booster pump they sell for ro systems? They're adjustable, but not sure how far down it'd need to go. Otherwise a brs auto top off pump might help. Their 50ml per minute is like slightly less than 1gph per hour. But any peristaltic pump would do. Not sure how fast you want it to go.

I found a thread from a while back where the author used a booster pump. I have one to run my ro system so I hooked it up to the barrel and put a valve on the line between the pump and resin and have great flow. I have to throttle it back using that valve but it’s working. I am picking up a smaller one Fri. so might not have to use the valve but will see. It will pump 100 gal. Per day. As of 10 min. ago I had pumped about 40 gallon thru the resin and it’s still getting the job done.
