So I when I started my reef tank 4 months ago I made the dumb decision not to drill it and use a pvc overflow HOB instead and I regret doing that. It is just a 30 gallon tank so my thought it to buy another one drill that one and then move everything over but I want the tank in the same spot. How do I go about doing this? I will be moving everything just like it is over sand rock water everything. Anyone done this what’s the best way to do it without over stressing the fish and coral?

I think you'll find it easiest to start with new sand. If yes, it shouldn't be too bad. Get a big bucket of water made up or a bunch of 5 gallon pails to store rocks coral and fish in.

I made the discussion to add a different style of over flow to my tank after it was set up and running. I drained enough water from the tank to be able to drill it and then drilled it will live stock and water still in it.

I have very little experience drilling tanks so While I considered that I dont think that’s the wisest thing for me to do

That’s fair. I will say that the very first tank I ever did was filled with water. Lol. Probably wasn’t the smartest move but I did it anyway. You could always practice before hand if you have some scrap pieces of glass laying around only suggesting as an idea to keep you from buying another tank.

But always wise to side with common sense and not push to hard at your own comfor limits.

Omg that would suck!!! First thing I noticed is he is not keeping the bit wet. I had my wife constantly running water over the cutting surface when I’ve done mine. And I didn’t wobble the bit. And my water level was a lot lower than that.

It almost looks as if that panel was tempered by the way it broke. But Dang that would suck so hard.
