Hello! Any advice on moving fish from one tank to the next? Other than the acclimation stuff. Upgraded to a 125 from a 46, it's cycled and has had 2 new fish for about 2 weeks. Just tested last night all is good. I'm thinking my hippo should go first. Just nervous

Moving the fish from one tank to another once it is set up is really no different from bringing a fish home from the LFS.

If your salinity and temp are the same, I'd just put them right in. I like to use a clear plastic bag instead of a net. Thats how I move my fish from hospital tank to main tank.

The only thing I'm not sure about and maybe someone else has more info on, but does going to a new tank matter if the fish have been together in a different tank? Such as some fish fighting with others if they are introduced over time again.

I agree. why would you want to acclimate them if the parameters are the same? just needless stress on the fish.

I would say yes, because there is a whole new aquascape and room/dimensions. It is good it is an upgrade so lots more room which should help. I moved my 7 fish from a 90g to another 90g, completely different aquascape and I actually get to see my randall's goby now where before I rarely got to see him, he even goes after the feeding syringe now! A new home can change things quite a bit.

OP due to your 125 not used to so many fish I would add bottled bacteria 2-3 days before you transfer the fish. But if you are doing it one fish at a time, should be fine, as said earlier, same as adding them to your last tank, however bacteria rarely hurts.
