I am very new to this hobby.....and I am trying to learn as I go. I have had my 36 gallon tank set up for about a week now. I have added 4 pieces of live rock.....2 green chromis and 1 clownfish. I eventually would like to add more fish, anomones, mushrooms, shrimp, snails, etc. I'm just kind of explaining the route I would like to take. My question is.....how long do I wait before adding anything new.....and what type of things should I be looking to add at that time? I am just trying to find out so I can kind of make a plan for the future......my curiosity is screaming as I wait patiently:) Thanks for your input ahead of time!!!:)

One week is still a brand new tank for all intents and purposes. I would definitely hold off on anything new for at least a few weeks. Do you know about the cycle an aquarium goes through when it is set up? Some new reefers will add a damsel to get the tank's cycle started. Damsels are very hardy, but the cycle process is stressful on fish. Others will toss in a shrimp and let it decay to cycle the tank. I am hoping the clownfish and chromis will be OK. They are fairly hardy fish. If you see them stressing, or if they stop eating, I would ask the store that sold them to you to hold them, or see if another reefer can hold them. My next purchase would be more live rock, as the pieces you have are a decent start, but not nearly enough. You will need more to provide for biological filtration, and also for places for the fish to hide. I cannot see what lighting you are using, but you will need a decent light for anemones and mushrooms. Your best bet is to research anything you plan on putting in your tank. Once you buy it, you are responsible for its health and wellbeing. Research, then research more!
