Moving from my 125 to 240 question(s)?

Just thought I'd fish for thoughts on an idea I have. My current project is moving my current 125 out and replacing with the 240 acrylic. This move of mine will be a quick swap over, the only trouble is the 125 is in the place of the 240. So.... without going and buying so many trash cans or a large rubbermaid tub, my idea is to possibly fill my daughter's kiddie pool up with the 125's water, rock, corals, and fish (kinda a salt pool :wink

. Any thoughts on this being a bad idea? The pool is plastic and is roughly 7 feet round (just guessing before bed) and 1 1/2 feet deep. Between this and my trash containers, I believe it could work for the day of moving. Why not use the items on hand was my thinking! Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Y'all.

Sounds good, I just did almost the same thing. 125 to 220. I reused everything except the sand and last 2 inches of water. Lots of buckets, heaters, hob filters and rubbermaid tubs. It's amazing how fast the temp can drop without a heater

Hard plastic kiddie pools are perfect for this. The shallowness allows for good gas exchange in comparison to a trashcan. Just make sure you have water movement and are able to maintain water temp. This takes a lot of time and man power so plan extra time and people just in case anything goes wrong. Good luck, I hate projects like this. Mostly because I've done this many times for others.

Thanks for y'alls replies. 240 is about 3 feet away on rollers so no issues there, just powering the 125 outta the way. No issues, I'm stubborn (according to the misses) and power lift everything (guess my heavy weight lifting days are with me still). The 240 was moved by me just by brute strength so we'll see. Do you guys think my corals will be ok with 50% new water (mixed today for Saturday exchange)? This is my only thought so far. Thanks guys

50% is no problem as long as you adjust all the water Perameters in the new water. You should be able to do that between now and Sat.

I am going from 90 gallons to 125, I will store all 100 gallons in the same room, remove the old tank, then put the new on in place, attach the plumbing unions, and get it filled
