I am not satisfied with the look of my live rock in my tank...can I take all my critters out , place them in the tank water and re-set my rock....I have some sand snails and a sand sifting star...do I just dig in the sand till I find them? also can I leave my 3 small fish in the tank and do this as long as I am carful ..I need to set the sand again as my power head moved one end of the tank and it is not covered...thanks for any guidance ..oh...also can I set my live rock on a towel outside the tank for a short time?

Yeah all of that is fine. You probably dont have to relocate your livestock to change how your rockwork looks. You can wrap your rock in a damp papertowel soaked from water in your tank.

When I rescape, I fill busket(s) half full with tankwater (watch the ATO!) and put the rock in there. No need to remove critters, just be careful placing the rock. Haven't squashed a shrimp or fish yet!

I did an new aqua scape a few months ago. It was messy, but is left everything in the tank. I laid the rock on Wee Wee pads and covered with a wet towel. All was good.

You shouldn't have any problems changing it around with the livestock in there I never had.
