I'm tearing down my 120g and moving a few corals and a pair of small clowns to a nuvo 16g. I anticipate a move out of state within 18mos. and don't have the desire to care for a large tank anymore. I always wanted to try a nano and this seems like a good time to give it a try. My 120g is only 7mos old but I have moved sand, rock and even water to the nano. I have some sponge and filter media that was in my sump for several months into the new tank meadia chamber. My question is will I still have a cycle? Can i just move them over without acclimation? My temp/salinity/ph etc. are all the same as the 120g. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Oh heck no, you won't have a cycle with all that established media and rock in there. Leave it run for a couple days, then go ahead and transfer.
