Hello all,

I have over 20 anemones that I will be moving to my new tank. What would be the best way to make them start moving from the rock? I do not want to use the rock that they are now because I build them new NSA structure in new tank.

Thank you

Your picture of all your BTAs is triggering me  because I just finished something similar to this with 7 BTAs I'm evicting from my tank.

Unfortunately, my BTAs buried their feet so deeply into crevices in the rockwork I had to pull the rock out and break it apart with a chisel and mallet to even be able to gently remove the nems from the rock. I tried the powerhead and ice cubes, all it did was make them retreat into their holes and even caused one of them to split again.

If you've got 20 anemones, sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Good luck!

Yes the ice never worked for me either. for now I am trying them to start moving by flipping the rocks upside down or move it to different location. so far I I moved 7 of them. and what I thought was 20 before looks more like 40.

Try PVC segments or long tubes if necessary. I just moved a stubborn BTA by capping it with a large Tee PVC socket, which forced it to crawl into the tube to reach the light.

I'm moving 22 BTA's on a single rock next week. Easiest to move the rock and then use a directed low flow powerhead to get the BTA to move.
