Moving mushrooms

The mushroom rock I have is doing well but so it the hitchicker coral I got with it. The problem is the mushrooms are like tribbles and while the hitch hiker is growing the mushrooms have turned it white where they touch it. How do I remove the mushrooms without killing them?

I would try and get em to retract and then cut around them the best you can.
