Hello everyone!

I'm wondering how one moves a mushroom coral from a rock? I'm not even sure where to start...Do you cut it close to the base and stick it to a frag plug (or somewhere else)?

I've never tried to move one before.

They can be a pain as they will detach if they get mad and they cannot be glued. So, I try to cut them out with some rock left on the foot. Allows me to move them and re-glue the rock. If not, I put them in a dish of rubble till they re-attach.

Chisel and No Hammer. It's best done to pull the rock with the lights off. Using a sharp chisel, one hand on the handle, the other supporting the blade, make a paring slice into the rock, under the foot, keeping the foot attached to the bit of rock you are removing with it.

This way does not injure the foot, does not make the mushroom release, and gives you something to glue it down with.

Oh boy, thanks guys...maybe I'll leave them where they are!
