So moving houses next week, have a 75 gallon fish, coral, live rock and a sand bed. Any suggestion on what to do and not do?

currently planning on using 3 17 gallon totes from Home Depot...give them a good vinegar bath for at least 24 hours...same with the 4 5 gallon buckets and lids I will get. Place old water in the totes for the coral and rock..ensuring they are kept covered in water. 5 gallon buckets to transport fish. Should I keep the old sand bed? Completely get rid of it all (wondering if that will be throw away good bacteria) or to a 50/50 mix of old and new sand?

will that trigger a new cycle...mini cycle? Are mini cycles harmful to livestock?

thanks in advance for suggestions and what to do/not do

Ive done this 3X and simply leave tank 1/3 filled with water to keep the bacteria alive . Yes save as much water as possible and place back in tank at new setting and add new remaining water (like doing a major water change) and then add Bacteria and carbon to tank and introduce livestock again. Test every 49 hours first 2 weeks to assure no biological issues generating from move

what about the sand that is in the tank now? Will it start a cycle?

It has bacteria. Add liquid bacteria to boost the culture. As long as you keep it wet and saet it back up within 12 hours, it will be ok
