So i'm moving soon and I have a deep sand bed 3-5 inches and since I know things are going to get stirred up during my move what should I do so it doesn't kill everything once I set it back up?

Maybe it's a good time to replace your sand bed?

True, but I'm looking more for a quick fix and I'd rather not spend 100$ on sand right now. Any other ideas?

Gotcha. I upgraded tanks recently and had a similar issue. I prepped a 35 or 40% water change before transferring the sand and with the water I was throwing out I ran my hands through the sand a bunch then dumped the dirty water. Then added the "cleaned" sand to my tank and GENTLY added all my water. It was a little cloudy but not as bad as I expected. Couple hours later my fish went in. This is just my experience, I'm not a pro by any means

I also ran a small hob filter for a bit to help clear up the water but I'm not sure if that is recommended
