Update on my Brook issue. My tank is fishless since midnight after i removed my last fish. Less then 12h later hes dead. My last 4 fish who seemed healthy in my tank were 2 clowns a hifin goby and a yellowtail pygmy angel. 1 clown and the angel didnt survive the move. Was there anything i couldve done? I tried not stressing them while catching(which didnt work for the angel, had to get him while he was sleeping), i dripacclimated all fish. Parameters in qt match the dt.

For the future how could i have done it better?

If there is Brook then I doubt the move killed them. It's a ticking bomb and I would imagine that is what did it, especially if you acclimated them, which it sounds like you did. While it's hard to lose fish, I don't think you can take responsibility for the losses.

Well u know as much as i read about brook it often breaks out when the fish is weak. Which he obviously was after the move. I just know the fish wouldve lived another week or so if i simply ignored it. Feels awfull to know your action caused the death. I wanna be a good reefkeeper and end up making it worse than someone who maybe wouldnt have tried to find the issue.

Nvm i put an angelfish in a tank that apparantly isnt cycled well. Ammonia...
U know you read about rookie mistakes and u think cmon man how could u...

I feel so bad.

It happens. The important thing is that you learn from your mistakes.

The learning curve in this hobby is rather steep. It's especially harsh when dealing with diseases. Best advice: Read a lot and ask lots of questions. We are all here to help. Lots of very kind, knowledgable people here on R2R. Quarantine everything; build your own medicine cabinet to be ready when disease first appears.
