Moving soon w/15 gal tank

I was wondering what I should do with the sand. For the first move back in May, I kept a half inch of water in the tank and left the sand alone. I see many people suggesting now, however, that I should just keep a small portion of the original sand and replace it at my new place.

What would be better?

Also, any tips or do’s and donts’ of moving a tank would be appreciated! I’ve done it once before like I said, but maybe I’ll learn something new!

Whenever I’m moving my fish tank I put fish in one bucket rocks in another bucket and finally corals in a different bucket Leaving an inch of water With the tank is the best idea you don’t wanna reset your tank cycle so leave as much sand as you can in my own opinion

So leave the sand in there with some water while moving the tank? I’m just worried about the weight of it

How big is a tank? I moved a 60 gallon with the sand in it and an inch of water before.

A couple of buckets from lowes, harbor freight, etc to hold livestock/coral/sand/some tankwater.... and move it. Its only 15 gallons, that's easy.

Leave the sand in the tank. The only thing you want to take out is rocks fish and corals.

Leave it in the tank with just enough water to keep it covered.

It’s a two day move from IL to VA, then from VA to CT. I’m definitely asking my lfs to put O2 in the bags for my fish, corals, and inverts though
