Morning Guys,

I got a question for the group and every advise would be most appreciated. I recently became an house owner and going to be moving end of next month. I have two tanks in my current apartment (60 gallon cube with a 10 g sump) and (75 gallon tank with a 30 g sump). After discussing every possibility with the wife, I'm going to have a game room for my self in the basement. My idea is to buy a new tank, a 125 RR tank with a 75 g sump and a canister fx4 (I like to have a lot of filtration going in the tank) I know I'm very paranoid lol ;Facepalm. I was going to sell the cube tank and my dad wants the 75 with the sump, so I was going to add everything to the new tank. My question would be if I'm going to use the same live rock from both tanks, can I use the sand bed of both tanks or just buy a new one? The sand bed for both tanks have around 8 months old. My other questions would be the water from the tanks, is better just to get new RODI water or add half of the water from both tanks and then use RODI water and simulate like a big water change in the tank?

Thanks guys

You are mixing 2 different systems and going into a new bigger tank.
My 1st thought is just use whatever you have on the 75g to the new one then add new sands and new water( as you mention, like a big water change.
Dont use the 60g sands and water.
The rocks can be transferred over, its basicly like buying a new life rocks from anyone.
The rest of the stuff from the 60g, I would introduce them slowly to the new tank. Fish aggression, etc. Coral would be easy enough.

I may be wrong since I never did what you are trying to do

Thanks for the advise @aior0s, I'm going to start planing how to do the change from the 75 g to the new one.(tanks are in an second floor)

Ive mixed the sand with old and new as long as it was within 12 hours
