Moving sponge from toadstool

I have this sponge growing against my toadstool.. I want to keep it and let it grow.

What's the best way to separate the two without causing harm to either? or is it OK to let it grow like this?

Photo was taken when the lights were off.. best time to see it.

Totally cool to let it grow that way. Pretty stinking awesome IMO.

I noticed it started to grow more when I decided to run my skimmer at night only to help raise nutrients. Guess it helps

They do love suspended organics and bacteria.
