Hello everyone,
So next month I will be moving from Massachusetts to Florida and am wondering the best way to move my tank and fish. I have pretty basic equipment set up with a canister filter and led strip light. It’s pretty much just live rock in the tank with one coral. I have 6 fish and 3 urchins as far what’s in the tank. I’ve done some research in different methods to transport the fish and keep the water but am wondering if anyone here has any feedback or advice. Thanks!

How big is the tank?

Do fish in probably 2 buckets (3 each), buy a 2 battery operated air pumps, Urchin and coral can go in a bag you can get from your store.

ive done this with an entire pet store and personally and best bet is tubs versus buckets as you want to give them as much room as oxygen during the journey which i estimate 8-10 hours. Compensate for weather by bringing along a cooler full of ice and zip lock bags and filling the bags as needed/when needed. I used a 4 outlet power inverter which plugs into a 12v outlet and ran regular air pumps with air wands for maximum air distribution and checked on fish bi-hourly. Dont worry about feeding which will only raise the ammonia level.
