So I'm buying a 125g setup. The stand it's on now is not going to fly with my wife. So I have to build a new stand for it.

It's a running system...with lots of liverock which I would like to keep alive. It also has 3 fish - Sailfin Tang, Hippo Tang, Ocellaris Clown.

So I need to store 3 fish and 100lbs of rock for at least a week while building stand and cleaning tank up to reset. I want to scrub the green off the rocks, and clean the glass well. I'll toss the sand and start with a thin layer of new live sand.

Will tubs with heaters and powerheads suffice for all the rock and fish?

Where do I start?? Thanks!

I think they will be fine as long as you have the equipment to keep them proper temp and monitor water quality just like you would in a set up FOWLR.
Yeah, I think I can handle that. My biggest task is going to be bringing it all home!

They should be fine with a light, heater, and water circulation. Just gotta watch the hippo because they can get ich easily when moving due to stress. I've moved my tank before and had my fish and coral in a tub for about 5 days or so and they were just fine. Just give them some rock to hide in.

Tubs and brute trash can will work fine. Personally I've also used large ice chest, which I prefer since they're insulated.

Yes, I just did this two weeks ago. I bought 30 gallon Sterilite containers from Walmart, used them to house fish, coral, and rock for days, then rinsed and returned them.
Returned them? ;Hilarious I don't think I could look the cashier in the eyes trying that!

Just heater and powerhead? Did you do water changes?

I agree with the advice from all the above. Can't wait to see that 125 full of coral! Keep some tests on hand so you know if water changes are needed.

Yeah! The 20g is packed. This poor tank will look so empty :p

There was nothing wrong with them. I rinsed the saltwater out.

Yes, I had an MP10 and a heater in the tub. No water changes, but I stopped feeding the fish a couple days before so they wouldn't foul the water with full stomachs.

Tomorrow is the big day! I got the 55g set up as a qt/holding tank until build is ready. PVC pipe pieces enough for cover? Seems to be the common item. In the tank will be a
Hippo Tang
Yellow Tang
Sailfin Tang
Clownfish pair

Hopefully they will get along!

It has been a busy day! Tank and stand moved. Fish in holding tank. Unfortunately I put half the rock in the tank and half in a bin of water....then realized it was covered in black flatworms...so there's that ;Bored
