Moving tank soon, keep sand or change it out?

I am moving to a new house which is very exciting, but moving a tank is not so fun. I have a general plan; however if someone has some tips I’m all ears. The tank is a 60 cube, so not too bad size wise, it is sps dominate and 3 years old. One thing I’m on the fence about is keeping the sand. I was thinking I’d get new sand and discard most of the old stuff. Or is it better to just rinse and reuse?

Better to dump the old sand a get all new. When you disturb an old sand bed, you release all the trapped detritus and gases that have been sitting in there for however long the tank has been running. Then when you move to the new tank that's all released and can wipe out your system. Best to just go all new You will have a small touch of the uglies, but it beats ammonia and nitrate spikes You can rinse and re-use but its alot of work as you have to rinse the sand, let it dry out, rinse it again, dry it out and then use it.

I rinse new sand so I voted to rinse and reuse. After you break down the tank and have only sand remaining, you can clean it for the most part with a gravel cleaner before removing.
