moving tank

I'm going to be moving soon and need some advice on a moving my tank. I have a 125 gallon tank with a three inch sand bed, over 100 pounds of live rock stocked with coral. I have two spare 55 gallon tanks drilled with overflows to help with the move. I'll have a 4 week window to set things back up. Would it be a good idea to setup the 55 gallon tanks without sand fill half way with salt water so when I drain my tank I could take half the water straight out and put into containers. Then use the other half to transport coral with. Any help would be great, I would like to do this successfully. Thanks

I dont understand what the 55g are for, are you setting those up at the new house prior to the move? I would trandsport all the corals in plastic containers with water, sand in 5g buckets(rinse before reusing), rock in brutes with water for long distance(without water and wet towels or newspaper or short distances). I would use mostly new water at the destination and only partial old water.

This is what I've been thinking. I plan on using the 2 55 gallon tanks at the house I'm at now. I was thinking of draining my main tank into the 55 gallon tanks and transfer rock and coral into them at the same time. I will run lights, powerheads, heater and add some cheato. I will then pull out all the sand and place into buckets, or should I just buy new sand. I will use all the rock with out coral to seed the new tank. Then take the rest the tank apart and move to the new house to setup.Plus use close to half the water from the tank that I'm moving. Wait tell parameters are looking good and then start adding things over a 4 week period.
