Good evening to you all,

Firstly, many thanks for the nice welcomes to this amazing forum.

As I mentioned I am moving my TMC 900 approx 240 litres to a dd reef 900 pro new to me tank which i approximately 290 litres.

So I have a couple of questions prior to the move this weekend.

Over the past week, I have been adding 25 litres of mixed salt to the tank and storing the extract. Tis is with the belief that I will be needing a lot more water that the 50 litres increased volume. This is based on the in creased volume, possible waste and water needed to clean the rock prior to moving. Will also mean that the water chemistry should remain similar to the tank at present.

Can you see any problems with this, will be temperature matched prior to refilling.

I have a large amount of rocks from both tanks that are to be scaped. However the rock is not only live but populated with softies, LPS and anemones.
How long can a populated rock be out of the water without causing too much shock.
I don't think i will have the time to use acrylic rods, so have epoxy putty to try to scape and as I am hoping for an arch have ample cables ties to help hold the rocks together .

I have new and washed sand and have been planning on moving this back into the new tank over a period of a week. I tried a clean botton temporarily but dont really like the aesthetics and the conches and crabs seem to just scrape around.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this as easy as possible, I would be truly grateful.

Many thanks and all the best.

Lee

Seems like you've got a solid plan. I don't like my corals and nems out of the water longer than about 10 mins but in reality alot of them are used to being out and in the scorching sunlight for hours (at low tide)
