Should i move everything into a bigger tank and add the extra salt mix into the water (including fish etc)

Or should i cycle the new bigger tank, (live sand, rock etc) and let it sit for a month or two then once cycled just move live stock into it? (Im assuming this is probably best)

Or what other ways?

(May add Bio spira too to help fish or cycle at least once set up)

Anyone know when petco does their $1 a Gallon tank sales? (every month etc???

thanks! :p

If all ur doing is upgrading, I'd simply move it to a larger tank. I'd look into replacing the sand u can reuse if rinsed throughly as it will have trapped a fair amount of detritus by now. Def use bio Spira or some other bacteria booster during the move, then for awhile after I use a product called red sea nopox to keep nitrates and phosphates in check while ur tank goes through a mini cycle.

I just went from a 120 to a 180 in one night. I drained a little over half the water into the new tank. Then moved then added about 30 gallons of new water. Then moved all the Rock and corals, then the fish and snails. Used all the rest of the water. Then topped it off. (I don't have any sand so you might have issue there.) make sure your calcium, ph and magnesium are perfect. It's been up two months and I lost No life and got zero algae.

Awesome so i just start the new one up let it sit for a few days, add all my water from my 20gallon then mix new water and top it off with thatx move my rock etc then add the fish? sounds like an easier job than i had thought! yeah i was thinking of buying new live sand for the new bigger tank and just taking the water and live rock from my old tank and moving it to the new one with new live sand (White, i currently have black) only fish i got right now is 2 clowns and a chromish so they shouldnt be too bad if i use the bio spira to help it speed up fast while the fish is in there too and to keep them safe, ill be moving filter but ill have a new heater (cause itll sit for a few days with some of my live rock from my old tank in it just to help speed things up and to also let it sit so it isnt cloudy when i add the fish! Sweet!

any recommendations for what size tank would be good? i possibly want something longer (maybe 3-4ft long and about 15-16inches high with a good depth too

Awesome looking set up bud! cool, glad all your fish has survived and thriving in the new tank! bare bottom looks cool!

ANy good silicone or glue i can buy at walmart or lowes to bond live rock to create a shape out of some small pieces??? (tank safe silicone or glue)

By the 100 percent silicone 1 tube and a caulking gun at lowes or Home Depot. Much cheaper and reef safe after it dries. DO NOT use the fast drying silicone 2 or 3. If you want two keep the rock wet to preserve the the bacteria, the use the epoxy that you knead.
