I have had a 29g with 10g sump at my old apartment which had been running for only 6 months and has had some ups and downs but overall been staying healthy minus the fight with bryopsis. Then I had to move apartments this past week and decided to switch over to a 40g tank with two 20g underneath, one for the sump and the other for a frag tank which will flow into the other sump after. I also had decided to build my own stand in a style that would be very different than most stand due to my design preferences liking very industrial style things. So I made the stand to be very open and just skin and bones exposing all the parts of the system. This is also the first time building a stand so it was an experience.

I had planned on making this thread before starting the move but ended up making it after everything was finished and didn't take a lot of progress photos. But I am still modifying the stand and still need to add the light stand and some shelving unit to house my electrical and controller system.

I had a little under a week to make the stand, plumb it and then move over everything over, so it was a bit nice going for a minimal style for the stand. The stand is mad from a metal frame and the shelving units is made of wood. Also designed the stand that if I were to move again or upgrade the tank I would be able to modify it for ease of moving or to hold a larger tank in the future.

This tank and stand are still a work in progress as can see from the lights, no controller system, the container for the ato system is still not there and the second 20g tank for frags is currently missing.

Been a while since I had updated this build. Got a bit done but still have a way to go for the finished build.

So far what I have finished since the last update is the light mount and changed the sump to have the baffles instead along with a small refugium system for my tank.

I have started setting up the frag system which will be a 20g long on the opposite side of the sump and raised a few inches so it will flow from the frag system to the sump which still needs to get plumbed and painting in the back. And for the future I will be hooking up the dosing system followed by cleaning up the electrical and hooking up a controller for the tank.

Just finished setting up the frag tank and plumbing underneath the main display tank that drain into the sump into my tank.
