Hey everyone. I’m moving from Florida up to DC. I have a 90g tank with coral and fish. I’m getting prepared to break it down and move it which will be my first time doing. Just wanted suggestions and try to make sure I don’t miss anything. Ha is for the input.

I agree with @Mark Gray Sell it off and use that money to buy all new when you get to your new location. However, if that is not an option for you what I would do is get some brute totes and fill it with tank water, put your rock and fish in the tote, and get a power inverter. It plugs into a vehicle cigarette lighter and allows you to plug house items into it. They can be found almost anywhere (walmart, menards, Auto parts store). Then you can plug in a powerhead and a heater to the inverter to keep everyting moving in the tote. Obviously with 90 gallons and potential for 90+ pounds of live rock you won't be able to fit it all in one tote, so rotate it between however many totes you need to house all your rock and fish.

The best thing I can suggest is take some help, see above someone has already offered. Be it either people or a store. The more help you have the better your chances are.

Have water waiting for you so you don't have to bring it all. Have some sort of holding tanks, stock tanks, qt tanks whatever to put your livestock in when you get there. Then setup your tank after you've settled, but do this as fast as you can. Not as soon as you arrive since you will no doubt be exhausted but as soon as you're rested. I moved 700km a year and a half ago. I lost one fish in the move but then lost probably 50% plus of my livestock later as I could not setup my tank again for 6+ weeks (everything was in holding tanks as I waited to move into my house). It was hell beyond hell moving like this but I'd still do it again. A lot of people will tell you to sell and it would make your life a lot easier, but you can bring everything with you if that's what you want. Consider thinning some things out and plan your new setup ahead of time so you know exactly what you will be doing. Besides the water, have all your plumbing parts and anything else you're going to need. Keep in mind new place may need electrical work and other things that you can't necessarily do once you put the tank against a wall ect.

Aww sorry to hear that. I thought about selling the livestock. The stores offer store credit which doesn’t help me much. I have a place to move it too and I was planning on setting it up as soon as a got there. I’ll prob reach out to some reefers as soon as I get a firm date.
