I found two moyeri wrasses at a local pet store for $20ea today and jumped on it without enough preparation. I have a 20g quarantine tank already set up from my last fish purchase but it doesn't have any sand in it. Do you think they will be ok QTing without sand or does anyone have suggestions on how to add just enough sand for them to be satisfied? Right now they are ignoring my pvc pipes and hiding under a small piece of live rock I keep in there.

Oh good idea!

I'm using arag-alive special grade which is 1-2mm, is that fine enough or too coarse?

Yep, a small tupperware or glass bowl of sand will work fine. Do you have any pictures to share? Are they both female?

Both female, I'll try and get some pics tomorrow but my QT tank is pretty low light and they are fast moving little fish! I watched them eat flakes at the pet store and they are eating frozen mysis already at home.

All leopards need sand. 1-2 mm is fine. Moyeri are on the easier end.

They took the the tupperware container of sand immediately, these are about the most active fish i've ever seen. I love watching them stick their heads out of the sand first thing in the morning and sit there waiting to make sure it is safe to come out. They don't even hide when I put my face up to the glass.
