So I'm trying to determine if i want 2 MP10 or 1 MP40 on my 40 nuvo...would love some input.

Also is it recommenced to get the reeflink or does it matter?

Two MP10's that way you can create alternating currents. I have 2 MP10's on my 40 breeder. If you get the wireless versions, you can link them together. Unless you're going to do multiple scheduling (different modes throughout the day, or be able to control them wirelessly) or have radion lights you want to control as well. I personally wouldn't and don't use the reeflink.

+1 to this

Thanks crabs! I'll do this then. Is it worth getting used or should I just shell out the money and buy new?

Entirely up to you, bear in mind that used products will likely carry no warranty, and you never know what you're getting. On the other hand you can scoop up great equipment at a great price. It's a gamble....

True true, I'll space them out that way the lady doesn't notice small packages every now and then..larger ones beg questions. ;)

Okay, so not to sound stupid, as this question truely is...what do you mean by alternating currents...... *Sigh*

Lol! No worries, there are no stupid questions ;)
Basically your corals aren't getting blasted with flow from only one side, alternating currents means that the water is moving and flowing through the coral from all directions.

Ah I gotcha, so should I set them up across from each other directly so the current hits then disperses, have one above the other so the current goes over one another or should I just find what is best for the tank?

Just trying to figure it out.

He means having them on opposite sides of the tank and using the controllers to have one on while the other is off and vice versa. The idea is that your corals don't get blasted by flow from one side 24/7. So maybe 10 minutes or 30 minutes or whatever with one pump on and the other off, and then reverse.

A lot of folks like to set them up opposite each other and do one on and one off, then switch, and then a period of time with both on pointing at each other which creates a lot of random turbulent flow, which can be good.
