I have 3 brand new mp 40 es pumps. I am setting up a 150 gal brand new tank. it is 72x18x30 high. I will have 4 inches of sugar fine number "0" oceans brand sand in it, and about 200 lbs of dry rock. right now I have nothing in the tank except fresh water. I have been dealing with the plumbing, testing for leaks, and the noise coming from the drains. (which is another story) ... right now I just finished wiring the mp40's up electrically. I have one on each end and one on the back wall. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how far down off the water line I should place these pumps? offset or directly opposing each other? I of course read the manual but they have a generic "4-8 inches off the water line" which is in their eyes for every tank in the world and in every shape length and height. ha, ha, you do see my problem and confidence in this documentation...
does anybody have any direct experience down this road. especially with a "Deep Sand Bed" I have never set one up before. I have everything invested in this tank, plus my first born...
Should I have the offset, or directly opposing each other on the far ends? should I have them directly in the middle horizontally or offset, one towards the front and one towards the back?? should I have them opposing each other directly vertically or also offset??
