MP 40 Trouble shoot? Help?

I just installed an MP 40? I purchased the pump used. The pump is less than a year old. I finally installed the MP 40 in my tank. I do not run wireless (mobius), never have. Long story short. When I set the pump to any mode such as reef crest, lagoon, etc. The controller runs for about 60 seconds in Reef Crest (yellow in color) and then turns green at 50% power? I have tried different modes and the controller keeps returning to green 50%. I asked the guy I purchased the MP 40 from and he said he only controlled the pumps with his APEX not the QD controller. Is this a default mode or something I need to reset? Thanks!

Hold all 3 buttons down for about 20 seconds. That is a hard reset and you can program from there
