Mp10 and WXM issues

Ok I’m back with another question. I plugged my WXM in which is all good. Shows on fusion and module is updated. I try to attach to my MP10 as per the manuals I’ve read. I put Mp10 into the mode where it blinks yellow and blue. First issue does the W need to be lit up to attach to WXM. If not how do I have the WXM recognize the Mp10. If it does then I guess I need a rf chip for my mp10? Mp10 manufactured 8-18 and is wireless capable. Do I have to update or reset WXM?

The W on the MP10 controller does lit up blue when it's attached. (I think it lit up regardless if it has the RF chip but could be wrong) You can always open the controller if not sure it has the correct RF chip.

This is how mine shows up on the module once connected, last line Vorthech_MP10 - Rev 2.2. OK 3.

If you connected it to Mobius and the firmware was upgraded you have to downgrade the firmware or it will never find it. I had to do this in all 6 of my vortechs. Ecotech has a post on how to do it or verify firmware on support page.

Never connected to Mobius. This was manufactured before Mobius. When I go to settings and click on the outlet I don’t see anything that says Vortech. Just my labeled mp10 outlet. Does the W need to be lit up to connect to WXM though?

@Hydrored did you just downgraded the firmware version thru the app? I don't have the new chip and was wondering if you could just downgrade or needed a new chip.

I just downgraded, I have older pump also and we’re Mobius capable. I use to run them all through Mobius so I had to update them. Realized Mobius was trash and had to downgrade all of them. I’m honestly not sure on the chip

I wonder if the wxm is not finding my wxm since I don’t have the wireless one. It’s wireless capable. I contacted ecotech amd they told me I shouldn’t need a chip just the wxm but I’m not having any luck. Wonder if Neptune will be able to help out

I would just open the controller and see if there is a chip in it. There were two models the QD and the WQD version so you might be missing the chip or maybe is not installed properly. I think wireless capable means that it has the slot for the chip but not necessary includes it. If memory serves me well the controller has 3 Torx screws.

Yes I guess I will have to take apart but I know mine is not the wireless version. It is wireless capable but I thought that was just for Mobius. If it doesn’t have the chip I guess I need a chip to link to WXM? Like I said before according to Ecotech with the mp10 I have all I need is a WXM maybe they misunderstood

Yes, you will need a chip if there is not one installed in order to use the WXM.

And I see the only chip they make now is the black chip correct.

I only see the black in the Ecotech store for $20. They don't list the green one anymore. This is why I asked Hydrored if you can just downgrade the firmware. So my understanding is you buy the new chip which is Mobius, download the app and downgrade the firmware and then link to the WXM.

Yeah Ecotech told me they no longer make green chip. Question eventhough I have an older mp10 I would still have to downgrade if it doesn’t have the green chip amd I have to buy the black chip? Unless someone here has a green chip they no longer need

So I opened up the controller and there is no chip plugged in. So I guess this is why it will not link to my wxm.
