Ok I am going to get a vortech, but not sure if I want to go with a 10 or 40 for sure yet..... would prefer to get the 10 as it is a bit cheaper even comparing a new 10 to a used 40 lol

I have a 48x18x18 tank and have seen youtube vids of a 10 creating a little wave in a 75 which is slightly bigger then my tank but figured I would see if anyone on here has any experience with a 10 in a 4' tank.

Looks like a 10 should be ok from watching these videos, and yes I know a mp40 would probably be more ideal but if I go new I will only be able to get the 10 probably... I plan to run an evo 1400 (constant on) on the opposite side as well, and the evo gives me slight polyp movement on the opposite end alone.

I had 2 mp10 on my 36x24x24 didn't make a wave weren't big enough for my tank I have sps and there just wasnt enough water movement

Usually glass thickness is an issue. My friend got an mp10 for his 75 and the magnet wouldn't hold.

The glass on my tank is 1/4".... but I found a local guy wanting to part with one of mp40 the gen2's for $200 so I am trying to get that.... we shall see.

I would think you need atleast an mp40 on a 75 gallon. I have 2 mp10s on a 36 x 24 x 20 tank, and Im starting to see cyano from lack of flow. I just bought 2 more. so ill have 4 on this tank!

My tank is smaller then a 75 (calculators say its a 67.5g, but it held 52g before draining into overflow...), and is narrower and short then your tank even. I don't plan on using the vortech (even the mp40 if I can get it) alone tho anyway.

i have 2 mp10s in my 75. i need a 3rd. the magnets hold just fine on mine but they dont have enough flow to get everything off the rocks. 2 mp40s would be great but cost more than they are worth imo.
