mp10 in shallow tank

Hmm I run one in my 40Br.. about 15 inches high with a shallow sand bed. I haven't had problems yet, but I run a long pulse at about 1/2 power. You may have to tinker with it, but it should work.

I'm running 2 x mp40 in my 12 inch tank, and it causes no problems. I ran an mp10 on it as well and it worked great. You can put the Vortech a few inches down from the top and it won't pull air. If it does, just drop it a bit more until you are happy.

I tried a mp40 a no matter how I placed it or how much I cut it back I pushed all the sand to the middle of the tank.
Encouraging to hear the 10 might work.
Tabasco, the chalice is just one I traded with a local reefe and liked. Thanks.

How thick is your sand bed? On my 12 inch tank, mine was only an inch tall at the highest. Plus, I ran my tank an inch from the top, so in reality, my tank gave the fish 10 inches to swim in
The only problem I had with sand was when the two Vortechs on both sides would hit right in the middle, but if I cranked one down just a tad, it wasn't a problem.

Sand bed is a little thicker.
I'll play with the sandbed and pump and see what I can work out.
