Hi,

I had this MP 10 for a few years. I cleaned and put it into storage for about 6 months. I notice it was loud when I started using it again. Can anyone identify what part of the MP 10 is the issue? or is it trashed?

Not sure, but I dont think you suppose to run it dry.
It is more probable that it is wet side or you didn’t align it properly.
It might be worth it to buy spare wet side.
Dry side can also rattle, but usually when you drop it. Did you?

Maybe I shouldn't have run it dry, but I read somewhere that was a way to test it. It makes the same sound but toned down under water but still noticeably loud. From my knowledge it hasn't dropped. Trying to get a better picture of what the problem is before spending more $$ on this unit. ty!

Run th dryside separate from the wetside and see if the noise is there. If not, then the wetside is likely to blame. There also needs to be somehting between the two parts. Don't ever attach the wetside directly to the dry side without some kind of spacer

The dry side by itself is completely quiet. thanks.

If it's the wet side just get the mp215 wet frame assembly.might be all you need.

Make sure the wet side shaft is seated correctly. A few years is a good life, get a new wet side, if its not gone now it will be soon.

I think I may have figured it out. Before putting away the mp10 which was working perfectly, I watched a video on how to take it apart and clean it. I cleaned it pretty good, so good that I removed the grease which I thought was algae residue or dirt back then.

I opened up my 2x MP40 to compare and I noticed the rings of grease on both side of the wheel. I will try to reapply the grease and hopefully I didn't do any damage to the MP10 running it without grease. Will update if that fixed the issue.

Updated video after adding MolyKote 111. Sounds good now :).
