Mp10 on 12mm glass?

The mp10 says it's only good for glass up to 9.5mm but does anyone have success using it on a little thicker?
I have an Innovative Marine sr80 that has 12mm glass. Really wanting an mp10, mp40 would be a little to much for my softies. Wondering if it'll work or does anyone have a suggestion for another good powerhead?

MP10 will transfer torque through 12mm/0.5 inch glass but the coupling isn’t as strong. Depending upon the modes you use, wetside may fall off occasionally. Make sure you properly support the dryside lest it fall also.

On a 4' tank you would be better off with the MP40.
