MP10 spacer

I bought a MP10 power head and it came with this rubber spacer. I added on the wet side but the magnets don't seem to have a good contact and the whole thing keep falling off. Can I use the powerhead without this spacer? Does it cause any problem without it? Like crack the tank for example. Tia

The spacer goes on the dry side, how thick is your aquarium glass? you may not even need the spacer.

It's 45 cube. Looks like 1/4"

If it's 1/4 you shouldn't need the spacer. My 40 Breeder is 1/4" and I don't use a spacer with no problem.
