The shaft on my wetside cracked I guess and is now rusting. I assume there isn’t anything I can do for this? Do I need to just throw it away at this point?

Buy another wet side. If Ecotech will warranty it send it in for replacement. Having a spare wet side makes cleaning easier.
From previous posts, it appears that vinegar should not be used to soak these for cleaning.

Yeah, I already bought another and it’s in now. I’d prefer to keep this one and swap them out for cleaning but I assume even a little rust could cause major problems over time.

I wouldn’t use it. Keep the salvageable parts for spares. Curious how old was it?

Assuming wetside was original, that’s pretty good longevity. I’ve had over a dozen vortech of various sizes. 5 years out of a wetside is about right. I’ve had some last longer, others not as long.

No doubt! Definitely not complaining. Just verifying that it probably not a good idea to continue using.

Beyond the rust, I would be concerned that it would swell and stop spinning or affect the speed and not perform as it should.

Was hoping maybe someone had success repairing or replacing the shaft only because the rest of the wetside is in great shape.
