So Needs some insight here...
Have an EMF meter to check some things here and there around the house to minimize exposure.
As you've all been told 1000X by your mom's "Don't watch your food in the microwave"
My microwaves is ~100-200 mG (milliegauss) when running. Anything about ~3 isn't "healthy" and isn't "recommended."

That being said my MP10QD is around ~2000+ mG !!!!!
you can read the EMF all over the tank, what effect does that have on coral, fish and us!
ANYONE KNOW WHY THIS MP10QD is a washer size microwave?! TIA

The order of the pics is MP10QD
2 feet away at 0.0
close to it 514
next to it 1938
off 0.0 next to it.

Aren’t microwaves non-ionizing though? I was under the impression the whole microwaves are bad for you thing was long debunked

All pumps will emit EMF. Try and take a reading of your return pump. Also put the meter near your algae cleaning magnet.
I don’t know if @Brew12 can help but we’ll try.

Yes. Debunked long ago.
If they harmed you, then the electrical lines above our heads and WiFi would kill us ;) lol

Thanks for the invite!

Your MP10 will absolutely emit EMF, and a lot of it when compared to other pumps. EMF is an Electro Magnetic Field and the MP10 utilizes magnetism to worth through the glass. Your reading is in milligauss which is a measurement of the strength of magnetic fields. I don't think any studies have been done to conclusively prove what level of EMF is harmful. Fortunately, as your readings show, air isn't very permeable so magnetic waves won't travel far through it and the EMF drops off quickly.

I wouldn't spend a lot of time with my head within a foot of an MP-10 but getting close on occasion isn't likely to be harmful.

1 mG is .001 Gauss, you're fine, unless you have a cheap pacemaker.

Just remembered. I had two 400w MH magnetic ballasts that I would get reading up to 3ft away.

I wonder if magnets have anything to do with EMF. A spinning magnetic field surly couldn't throw off an EMF meter....

Just tried it on my MP40. Quite high. Turned pump off and it’s pretty much gone.
Have you tried your return pump?

This is about 1.5 ft away from a 40 wat powerhead located in the barrel.

yeah i get high readings as i approach the Vectra M1, but its submerged so i can only get so close. but 50+
also the Radion's are around 100+ which is interesting b/c those are "wifi" enabled too.
Im sure the spinning magnet has something to do with it, for better or for worse, but IDK.
