Hello,

I have a AIO 65 Gallon tank, the display is 47" Wide x 14" Deep x 18" High, so about 51 Gallons, the plan was to put 1 Mp10 on each end of the tank. Or should I be looking at 1 Mp40 instead or an Mp40 and Mp10?

Don't plan on doing SPS at the time, but maybe in the future.

Thanks in advance.

I think mp40’s are perfect for 4 ft tanks. One on each side. You can run them slower until you get sps.

The glass thickness could probably make that decision for you. Under 1/2” and I’d go with dual MP10s. 1/2” or more and you’ll need the MP40 so the magnet will hold.

That's a good point, technically the tank is 10mm and I see online it says that the Mp10 is good for 9.5mm, with a lot of comments saying they have no issues, when I put the Mp10s I have on dry, they hold no problem, I don't know if they'd lose suction once they're turned on.

Tank is still empty so I can't really try it out.

I have a 75g 48” tank with a mp10 on one side and a mp40 on the other

When this was sps tank I ran mp40 on both sides.

I will tell you the difference between the two on a 48” tank…a mp40 will blast water to the opposite side and a mp10 seems to go about 2-3 feet. The mp40 is a wider flow also.

However, I like that if I have corals needing higher flow I can put on one side and corals needing low-medium flow can go on the other side

I think a 10/40 combo is a good setup for most situations. Once my sps became larger colonies I needed mp40 on both sides
