Hi, I have an 85 gal flat back hax, 72W x 18D x 24H, that is mainly zoas, softies, LPS, chalices, amd leptoseris (low/moderate flow).

Right now i have the older hydor pumps that are either on or off. I'm looking to add two Vortech pumps to match up with my Neptune Apex Lite. With my low flow requirements, would two MP10's be ok or do I need to jump to the more expensive two MP40's?

I would do at least an mp10 and an mp40. I have two mp10's on a 55 and I feel I just get the right amount of flow. I would check the glass thickness of your tank and make sure an mp10 can go on it.

You might be able to get away with just one mp40. I had one mp40 on my 90 for a while when it was mostly LPS. I am adding more SPS though so I will be getting another mp40.

Thanks for everyone's input. I was worried I wouldn't get the right "sway" with a single MP40 but two would be too much. I guess I'll look at one MP40 for now. If I need more, I can always add in an old powerhead.
