I have a 95 gallon Surfline aquarium. I'm wondering if 2 mp10w es's would be sufficient enough for flow In the aquarium. I only have lps , softies and a few fish in the aquarium. Would these work good enough? Or should i foot the extra $ and go with mp 40s?

I have a 90 in our family room and it has 2 Mp40ws and I have 1 Mp10w at the highest point in the tank (it's nearly touching the rim). This is to keep circulation going at the top of the tank and to help with dispersion of food..

If you can afford it, go bigger than the 10s..

Well it seems I have a little more saving to do then : ) thanks for the advice guys I appreciate it

My thing is that vortechs cranked up to the max make a lot of noise. It can't be the best for the longevity of the pump either. My thought is that I'd rather have two on half power than one on full power. It's up to you. You can get away with it if need be. You could do one of each.

The tank is 48" wide 24" deep and I do believe 18" wide

It really depends on the animals you keep, your aquascape, and dimensions of your aquarium. I think any of the above could work. In my 48"x18"x20"H office aquarium I run one MP40w ES on about 2/3 power and it's more than enough flow for what I'm keeping.

I think you're fine with an open scape and softies. If you were going SPS I'd recommend going w/ the mp40's. If you think you may upgrade a year or two down the line you may want to buy the mp40's so that you already have them when the time comes. But for your current needs, I think 2 x mp10's is enough.
