Mp40 blowing sand

Hello, question about mp 40 users. So my mp40s blowing the sand in the middle of the tank. If I put them higher then they suck air how you guys prevents this other then turning down the percent.

Is it a new tank? I would say this is pretty normal with new sand. It is just about finding the right balance until sand isnt as soft to be able to blow around

No not new. 2 years. I was using the mp40 guards and didnt really have the problem, but was getting a lot of algae on the 3d printed guards that pain in the butt to clean and also noticed mp40 running hotter with these guards on. I just bought some peroxide to dip the guards which they say dissolves algae.

I think Fiji if I remeber, carrib sea pretty sure. Well at this point can't really change the sand just looking for solution

Move the mp40 or turn it down. I don't see any other solution. The nem guards were probably just restricting the flow so if you turn it down a bit you should be able to get it close to where it was before removing the gaurds

You can mix sands, or change programs to one that works or rearrange rock work around that area. Maybe put a rock down there and see where the new spot is. Might have to chase for a while till you find solution
