Almost every type of power head/wave maker has been copied. Usually by jebao. I find it crazy no one else has tried an echo tech knock off. Anyone ideas on why?

I am confused on this as well. If they can copy a gyre then they should be able to copy the MP line.

Someone could but they would be sued and probably lose alot of money.

Jeabo has no presence in the US, EU or any nation where you can file a IP infringement lawsuit. Samsung does and is TOTALLY different - they are also Korean, not Chinese. Jeabo operates online and lobs products over into the US (ships) without ever setting foot on the soil. You can bet that they would be sued like crazy if they had a US or EU presence. They can just steal IP at will.

I have no idea why they have not copied a MP40. Probably because the costs are too high - you better bet that Tunze and others have had their patents stolen without regard. I heard from one of the reef manufactures that got their IP stolen that if China IP stealers cannot produce a product and have a 500-1000% markup, then they will not do it. ...that Jeabo pump that you are buying probably cost them $5 to make and the MP clone probably costs too much.

There are IP laws that prohibit the purchase of this stuff, but what is a small family business going to do, sue everybody for $79 for buying a pump? It just does not make sense. They can sue a store or facility that wholesales or sells them, which I know at least some "nastrygrams" have been sent mostly to store owners who where just unaware.

I almost lost a very valuable tech business to Chinese IP theft, so I know more about this than I need to... it is scary and probably has impacted somebody that you know in some small way, if not a large way.

I think you answered exactly what I was thinking. No one has copied them because there is not a huge profit margin to be made (copy rights aside). They’re probably pricey for a reason, they cost more to manufacture
