MP40 Flow Restriction

I have an MP40 in a 24x24x16 tank. I am looking for options to restrict the flow. I currently have it turned down to like 5% which works, however it doesn't provide much room for flow variation.

I originally wanted am MP10, but due to glass thickness this was not possible.

I don't know what replacement guards people have tried and how it affected flow.

Put the foam guard on that came with it. That will turn it down a bit.
