Mp40 in lieu of a 10

Think I could get away with running a 40 on the lowest setting on a 34 gallon solana tank?

not really.. your barnacle blennies could become puree

but i do believe the dry side of the MP40 is the same as the MP20 so you could get a MP20 wet side..

and give me the MP40 wet side because of this great tip!!! :tongue:

I ran an MP20 that I later upgraded to a MP40ES on a Solana without issue.

The Wet Sides are the same It's the Dry side that's different If I'm not mistaken!

The only difference from a mp20 to mp40 is the controller. Everything else is the same. The mp20 controller
gives less power to the dry side and less modes then the mp40 controller.

Jen I think a mp40 be to much for that tank. I know I tried. Mp20 works but a mp10 works best.

I ran a MP10 on my old Solana and the max that seemed I could run it at was about 75 percent. You could run it but it would be a waste of money unless you had one already.

I had a MP40 for my 60g cube and it as way to much......A MP 10 would be perfect and with the new flow rate findings the MP10 will give you enough flow, I had 2 MP10s on my 60g after trading off the 40 and still couldn't run the MP10s at full force unless I wanted coral flesh being ripped off.....You will be surprised by the flow of such a little pump in the MP10. JMHO.

I've had a mp10 guys.....just I sold it long ago with my small tank. Now I am going small again I don't have one and I don't question the performance just wondered if I could get by with what I already have now and try not to have to purchase another one .

For sure you can get by with it, just turn it up to the point that your corals seem to expand......It might take a little experimenting but ya you can use it no problem.....
