Ok first wet side lasted almost a year after being purchased (new pump). Got the replacement wet side about 10 days ago and now this one broke. This time the screw that holds the propeller to the to the magnet snapped. Has anyone been having trouble with the wet side breaking like this? Eco tech has really been helpful and nice. But waiting for 2 weeks for a replacement part sucks.

Never had issues with my pumps ... I had snails go into the wet side and knock the dry side off the tank to the floor since I didn't have it tye wrapped to the glass ...

I had some similar issues with one of my MP-10's a couple years ago. Sometimes, I think a bad one or two just makes it through. Typical of manufacturing....not each and every one is perfect.

You know that's what I am thinking too. This does suck but luckily for me I was able to get a broken wet side from my lfs and just swap out the parts till a replacement comes in about a week and a half.

I have an original MP40 wetside that ran for around 6 years straight. The bearings have slop in them and I plan on replacing the whole wetside soon when I put it back into service. I guess I have had good luck with it. Are you sure the spacer is setup right, if they aren't perfectly aligned, it can put extra strain on shaft.

Well I put the spacer from the 9.5 mm (I believe) to the 12mm one that might have been the issue. I also run the pump at 45-50 present. I'll snap a pic.

Yea, under normal operation you can hear a slight hum from the dry side. If it isn't completely aligned it will start to clatter. It's pretty noticeable once you get it in the "sweet spot."

The sound was coming from the wet side I believe and it was more of the clatter/rattle sound. Will it be fine set at the 12mm spot? Or should I ste it back to 9.5mm?
