My MP 40 will just make a hopping or clacking sound and then fall off. Had them a long time no issues. I cleaned the west side and didn’t see any issues or problems with it and put it back on and it did the same thing about a week or two later. Any ideas??? Thanks

How long is a long time? The wetside does wear out ..... perhaps it’s time for a new one. I typically get about 5 years out of mine.

I had the same problem with a MP10. Wetside 'appeared' to be fine, yet it kept falling off. Got a new one and it's been fine. My guess is that wear causes some slight imbalance that is not immediately apparent by hand but enough to dislodge the wetside when powered.

I hear ya. I would match ur last one.
But I don’t need the money and they do a pretty good job of holding their value because they’re the best.
I would even do 300 in my pocket and then you pay the shipping which is probably gonna be 20 bucks I guess I would show you receipt at time I ship ..

When you cleaned it, you took apart the wet side fully, right? Unclipping the magnet housing and cleaning inside the wetside, right? I will go head and admit that I ran these for years before thinking to unclip and clean until I had one behaving as you describe.

Yes I did

So I’ve had this happen a couple times with my slave mp40. Every now and then when I take it out of feed mode it’ll have trouble connecting to the master. When that happens sometimes it does a weird thing where the fan will just spin kind of jerky and weird and make it shake. Then as soon as it connects it’s fine and goes back to normal

Currently having this issue. Is it the not using the spacer? I feel using the spacer makes the magnet weaker.

I believe mine has the smallest spacer, can’t remember for sure though. I just measured the glass and did whatever spacer was recommended

Have you used the thinner spacer? If you are using the thinnest, you might have to go with no spacer. My MP 10 did that on a 1/4 thick tank. I run with no spacers
