My tank is 48x18x30. Trying to decide on two Gyre XF250s or two MP40s? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Gyres if you can live with the cords. I've got three MP40s and it seems like where ever I place them, they're beating up a coral. I'm actually switching them on and off with an Apex with several seconds of off time to minimize it. Gyres spread the flow out a lot more.

If you want better flow and not constantly replacing wetsides i vote the gyres. If you cant accept a cord in the tank then the mp40(the small in-tank footprint and no cord in tank in my opinion being the only redeeming qualities of the mpxx)

What settings and intensity are you using?

Currently no big pumps in the tank. Getting ready to add
For me, I went with MP40s because I have radion lights and vectra M2 return pump so everything is on the mobius app. I was hoping the versa doser would come back in stock also.

That’s what I am thinking. I currently have the M2 and I just got two G5 XR30 Blues in like two days ago.

I've got Xf330s in one tank and MP40s in my other...I do have to say that my gyres are quieter than my MP40s and they haven't given me any problems at all. My MP40s are newer so I don't have any issues with them either...however I do like the adjustability of the gyres through the app more. I like the alternating gyre mode much more for my mixed reef; however, I prefer reef crest mode of my MP40s in my SPS dominant tank

Stay away from Gyres if you want good flow for more than a week or two at a time. I have 2 Gyre XF350's and two MP40's. The difference in quality is obvious. The MP's win hands down. The gyre will give phenomenal flow for a short period of time, but you'll soon get tired of pulling it apart every week to clean it.

Yup

I have a SPS dominated RS750 and swapped four MP40 to two Gyre xf350 (and the ICV6 box) and still happy :)
The OGC predefined program gives a super variated flow.
Because of the aquascape and the shape of the tank, the MP40's didn't make good flow in the entire tank without blasting everything off.

I bought an extra set of rotors and cages for the Gyres, to ease the cleaning, as the rotors have to be cleaned like every second week to keep the flow.
