I would think that 72” would be a little far for the mp40’s. Here is a video showing the flow of the MP40 in a 48” tank. May have to do each end to get the flow you want.

That's what I was thinking. I originally planned on having them 2 on each end... I was just hoping I could get away with all 4 on the hidden end... It looks so clean that way

You’re talking about all 4 on the smaller end to go across the the entire length of the tank?

i wanted to do something similar and do just both ends, but ultimately went with 5 MP40’s across the back wall of my 96” long tank because even on both ends I feared the middle would be neglected

Yeah I meant all 4 on the small end against the wall... It's a peninsula so pumps on either of the "long sides" are out. I'm limited in pump width on the wall end so couldn't use MP60s... Ended up buying 4x MP40s with plans to run 2x on each small end shooting towards the center... If I absolutely must I can sell/return 2x MP40s and put MP60s on the non wall end of the tank

I’ve got two mounted on my 5526 on the overflow end both running at 100% Reef Crest Mode. They’re mounted a little over half way up and still swirl the sand bed below. I’d think you’d run into the same if not more if you had 4 on that same panel. Also, any higher and they start swirling the surface and sucking in air.

That makes sense... I am bare bottom so sand isn't an issue but I did know there are limits how close to the surface before you start sucking air

Yeah, It will make a little “Cyclone” and suck air. Actually kinda cool....

I put mine across the back (not an option I know) so they alternate.... 10 inches from top, 10 inches from bottom, each about 18” away from the next.

Also Bare Bottom, so I am trying to finish glueing stuff down so I can run them pretty high
