Hello all. I have an innovative INT 75 and two MP40 s. Because of the overflow, I have to put them on the sides of the tank. I was wondering how should I position them? Should I have them facing each other or have them staggered, with one toward the front of the tank and one towards the back? Or should I have both on the same side of the tank? Is there a guide out there to help??

I think a lot of folks put two MPs on alternate cycles, where they are facing each other. Your return pump nozzle can break up the flow to make it more random, but generally, I think people face their MPs directly toward each other.

Thanks for the input. So do I put them in the middle of the side glass?? If they are facing each Other Is there a way to synchronize the two pumps so that they work together to make some more flow patterns ?

Do you have sand or BB? DivingTheWorld has his vortechs on the back wall on each side of the back glass down low and cranked up to 90%. His tank looks amazing.

I have sand in the tank. The back of the tank has a side to side overflow. So I can’t put the MP40s on the back side of the tank. In the future if I need more flow I could get a Nero or something to put on the back side of the tank

Keep me updated, OP! I've got the EXT 75 with a gyre xf330 and tunze 6095. Debating swapping the gyre with an MP40 at some point. It's a bit upgrade-proof and will stick to our glass thickness well. Curious how you like the pair.

Edit: to the above, gottcha, I didn't know the INT version overflow box was that extensive.

Yes the over flow is pretty big. And there seems to be a lot of unused space back there. I almost wish I got the EXT
