I hope this thread is in the correct place. Ok, does anyone know or have any i formation pertaining to the disassembly to a NEWER mp40QD. It's surly new enough that the bearings on the dry side shouldnt be making the noise they are. Its extremely loud i can hear it rooms away. All i can find is a lot of information on the older versions where you removed a sticker on the backside to access a screw. I really need to replace the bearings in this thing, any help would be appreciated.

Not sure how to do what you are asking but mine made noise on the dry side when it was not aligned correctly to the wet side. Also when I didn't use the correct spacer thing.

Na ive been using mp40s for 6 or seven years. This is 100% bearings on the dry side.

that's pretty bad... the newer qd are removed the same ways as the old ones... good luck in replacing the bearing.. I tried and ended up cracking the ceramic part inside. Got a new dry side =/

Ive replaced the bearings before in thw older ones that had a sticker on the back of the dryside. This is not a sticker, it feels like aluminum. How do you get that off?

I have looked for any videos online on how to take the MP40QD dryside apart ..... without any luck. Although I have had a number of the MP40QD on my system for 6 years, none of them have developed dryside problems so I’ve not attempted to take them apart. The MP40 dryside was redesigned to more closely match the MP10 and 60 drysides, so if follows that the disassembly would be similar .... but that’s an assumption on my part. At some point somebody will have to be the guinea pig.

I had a dryside fall to the floor last year and when I put it back on the tank it rattled like crazy.
I figured it was toast so I ordered another one ( dryside) right away.
A day or so later I got bored and decided to try and pull it apart ( dryside) since a new one was coming.
The sticker on the end turned out to be made out of thin aluminum or plastic ( I think) Definitely not a paper sticker.
I used a thin knife blade and just worked it around the edge going a little deeper each time, until it popped off.
I got down to the round magnet and the nut that was holding it on was really loose.
It made me think that maybe this was the issue?
I tightened the nut ( or bolt, I can't remember), put everything back together and put it on the tank and it made a little noise for a few minutes, then went completely quiet again.
That was more than a year ago.
I month ago it was making some buzzing noise ( not much. You have to be close to it to hear it) so I figured my luck was about to run out so I ordered a new MP40QD.
The new arrived and I set it on my shelf, because the small amount of noise the old one was making stopped.

If there's adhesive holding it on a heat gun would probably help.

Awesome this is what i assumed but wanted to hear just that before i went tearing i to it. Thanks so much

Yeah, you can definitely tell EcoTech wants it’s customers to stay the hell out of their dry sides! With every generation of MP, that sticker on the back becomes more and more like a bank vault door.

I’ve owned 18 vortechs of various vintages and have yet to need to replace bearings. What are you chaps doing to them lol. I did buy a used MP10 a few years back and the dryside was completely seized. Seller claimed ignorance. Took it apart. Clearly the dryside had not been kept dry and everything, including the bearings, were all rusted.
